Yungblud breaks leg, vows to play European festivals this week
The road to fame can be bumpy, but for some artists, even a broken bone can’t derail the momentum. Doncaster-based artist Yungblud, Dominic Harrison, recently faced a physical setback, but his resolve remains as fiery as ever.
The reality is that Harrison suffered a broken leg during a motorbike accident at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota last week. Though the incident required a temporary pause in his mobility, it did not cause him to pack up his guitars or abandon his schedule.
Taking to social media, Harrison shared images of himself on crutches, sporting a bandaged leg, but his message was anything but defeated. He posted a wry reflection, declaring that even with a broken leg, he was still ready to perform: “Leg fucked. Still giggin. Still standin (sort of),” he wrote.
This moment of vulnerability was quickly followed by an unshakeable commitment to his music. Harrison confirmed that he is absolutely planning to continue with his planned live tour dates, refusing to let a physical injury dictate his creative rhythm. He is set to hit the road supporting his double album, ‘Idols’.
His determination is about to lead him to Europe. Harrison announced he will be performing at major European festivals this week, including the Pukkelpop and CA Vilar de Mouros events. He expressed excitement for the journey ahead, stating, “Portugal and Belgium I’m comin and it’s gonna be fucking mad. See you next week. Let’s ride.”
This commitment to the road comes amidst a dynamic career. Yungblud has already delivered powerful performances, including a set at the Sturgis event and a recent appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago. Furthermore, his recent work includes a Grammy win for Best Rock Performance, solidifying his place in the music world.
Despite the unexpected physical challenge, the focus remains squarely on the music. Harrison is taking this time to seriously address his long-term well-being, underscoring that his health is paramount. He remains fiercely dedicated to his art and his audience.
