Brandi Carlile postpones UK and European tour

The road to musical celebration sometimes takes unexpected detours, but for singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, a significant pause has been called for on her international journey.

Carlile recently announced that she is postponing the UK and European leg of her tour. Originally slated to kick off in October in celebration of her 2025 album Returning To Myself, the dates have been pushed back significantly to March 2027.

The decision, which Carlile shared on social media, was made due to personal circumstances. Though she acknowledged that this change might be inconvenient for fans planning international travel, she emphasized her desire to connect with her audience and stated she had worked to avoid rescheduling the dates.

The immediate impact of the decision included the outright cancellation of the Lisbon show, with refunds being issued to all ticket holders. However, Carlile has already managed to keep the momentum going by adding two new dates for the tour in Wolverhampton and Copenhagen.

Meanwhile, the rest of her schedule remains firmly on track. The planned US leg of the tour is unaffected and is scheduled to begin next week in Maine, keeping the energy high for American audiences.

Beyond the touring schedule, Carlile has been deeply engaged in meaningful advocacy. Earlier this year, she took to the stage at a massive event in Minneapolis as part of Be Human: A Concert for Minneapolis, where she raised substantial funds for the Advocates for Human Rights.

That performance was not only a powerful musical experience but also served as a platform to address serious social issues, including calling out the actions of ICE in Minneapolis, which has led to the deaths of civilians Reneé Good and Alex Pretti. The concert successfully raised over $600,000 (£444,000) for the cause.

Carlile’s musical collaborations continue to expand her repertoire. She recently joined fellow artists like Michael Stipe and Josh Homme to perform classic tracks by legends such as Elvis Presley and Tom Petty at the 2026 Gansett Games, showcasing her versatility across genres.

Looking ahead, Carlile is also set to participate in the All Things Go festival next month, taking the stage at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, from September 25 to 27.
