Two years ago, the album Romance established the band’s knack for questioning a sense of place, tracing movements from Dublin to faraway lands. The journey itself is epic. Chatten has sought lyrical inspiration across the “faded grandeur” of Venice, Vienna, and Sicily. The track paints a scene that mixes the elegiac synth majesty of Depeche Mode with a widescreen David Lynch aesthetic—a dark lullaby where tension pierces a surreal dream. Dopamine Chamber plunges further into this exploration, following the rabbit deeper into the hole in search of more mechanical extremes and orchestral noir flourishes.
