King Gizzard’s Australian Rave & Block Party Tour

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are gearing up for a massive Australian adventure, announcing a highly anticipated 2026 tour packed with psychedelic rock, underground raves, and curated community events. The journey kicks off in October, promising an unforgettable blend of high-energy performances and deep dives into their eclectic musical catalog.

The tour schedule immediately plunges fans into the action, starting with dates in Thirroul on October 13th at Anita’s Theatre, supported by Xiao Xiao. The momentum continues rapidly as the group heads to Sydney, where they will headline the Hordern Pavilion on October 14th. That same night sees an added spectacle at Sydney’s Liberty Hall for a late-night rave set, adding an extra layer of intensity to the launch.

The tour culminates in Melbourne with the return of their signature event: The Croxton Block Party on October 17th and 18th. This two-day festival is entirely band-curated, offering fans a deep immersion into the Australian underground scene alongside a selection of international peers.

The program for the Block Party is a masterclass in genre-blending, featuring acts like Japanese pop-punk stalwarts Shonen Knife and Babe Rainbow, along with psych groups such as Heavy Moss, fronted by bassist Lucas Harwood. The bill also features experimental sounds from B3LLY, Moktar, Techno666, and a unique modular-synth solo set from frontman Stu Mackenzie.

The Block Party is more than just a concert; it carries a profound purpose. Since its debut in 2025, the event has been dedicated to environmental conservation through a unique partnership with climate agency FEAT. A dollar from every ticket sold will directly support habitat restoration efforts on Lungtalanana Island in Tasmania, an initiative spearheaded by the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre to reintroduce native wildlife like the Bass Strait wombat and long-nosed potoroo.

This tour arrives at a pivotal moment for King Gizzard. The seven-piece has built one of the most singular and prolific catalogs in contemporary rock history, cycling seamlessly through microtonal psychedelia on Flying Microtonal Banana, thrash metal on Infest the Rats’ Nest, and ambient acid house on The Silver Cord. Their output is relentless, including five albums released in 2017 alone.

That incredible productivity has not gone unnoticed by the charts. King Gizzard continues to demonstrate massive appeal, placing multiple titles on the Billboard 200 and topping emerging artist lists, proving that their unique blend of creativity and relentless output resonates far beyond the rock sphere.

The full tour schedule brings this innovative and prolific act to the forefront, delivering a unique festival experience while championing vital conservation causes across the continent.
