Yard Act Sheds Skin with ‘New Beginnings‘ and Kicks Off a Massive Tour
Yard Act is ready to usher in a new era with their latest single, “New Beginnings,” from their forthcoming album You’re Gonna Need a Little Music. With a distinct flavor of ’90s Britpop, the track immediately sets an optimistic, forward-looking tone. Frontman James Smith dove deep into the philosophy behind the release, suggesting that life is a continuous process of evolution.
Smith puts it plainly: “Sometimes we’ve already shed our old skin without even realising it’s happening. Celebrate the new, because you can’t go back.” This message perfectly captures the energy radiating from their new material—a celebration of shedding the past and embracing whatever comes next.
As the album hits shelves on July 15th, the momentum builds toward a major live run, kicking off August 5th across the globe. The tour schedule is ambitious, bringing Yard Act to some iconic spots and delivering explosive energy wherever they go.
The initial leg of the journey features excitement in the US, with dates slated for San Diego on August 5th and Los Angeles on August 6th, followed by stops in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver. The itinerary quickly shifts focus across the Atlantic, ensuring fans in the UK and Europe are treated to a full experience.
A key highlight of the tour is the collaboration with fellow artists, notably their appearance alongside The Armed. Fans can look forward to seeing them alongside NYC’s Warsaw on August 13th, as well as various headline shows around major festivals like Riot Fest. They are also slated for headline spots in Minneapolis and Detroit before hitting Toronto with The Armed.
The road map is packed with incredible venues, taking the band from celebrated UK spots like London’s Rough Trade East and Nottingham’s Rough Trade, through to major international cities like Paris, Berlin, Oslo, and Copenhagen. The extensive schedule also includes dynamic dates across Scandinavia and Central Europe, spanning from Cologne in October to Prague and Berlin later that month.
