Directed by Garth Jennings—the same visionary who brought visual magic to classics like Pulp’s music videos and the sci-fi epic The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy—the film weaves together narration from the members, rare behind-the-scenes footage, and the raw energy of their live history.
The resulting 90-minute movie offers a fascinating glimpse into the band’s story, exploring how they found their voice and what it means to perform again. It is a celebration of the journey that led to the release of their acclaimed album, More, and the energy that fueled their recent arena tours.
Jarvis Cocker, the frontman, shared some reflective insights about the experience. When asked how one reaches a moment like this, Cocker put it perfectly: “Good evening. This is a night you’ll remember for the rest of your life,” he mused. He added that the real live version of Pulp has been far more interesting than he could have imagined alone, noting that the songs release pockets of energy from past lives when performed again, calling it “real time travel.”
The visual presentation itself is equally captivating.
