Pulp Encore Doc Sets September Premiere
The enduring story of Pulp is getting a cinematic treatment. Garth Jennings is bringing the band’s history to the screen with his upcoming documentary, PULP: What Do You Do for an Encore?, set to premiere exclusively on MUBI on September 25th.
This 90-minute documentary is a deep dive, weaving together footage from Pulp’s massive arena productions with four decades of previously unseen archival material. It offers an intimate look at the Sheffield outsiders who managed to become one of Britain’s most singular cultural exports.
The film captures the band during their 2025 tour behind More, providing a vivid backdrop for the narrative. As the story unfolds, the documentary features twenty songs—ranging from iconic hits to deep cuts—that illustrate the complex world of the band members.
The narrative is narrated by frontman Jarvis Cocker, lending a deeply personal voice to the exploration of their journey. Beyond the music, the documentary delves into the creative dynamic of the group, revealing the distinct personalities that fueled their success.
