Radio Hall of Fame Reveals 2026 Hosts and Inductees List

Get ready to tune in, because the history books are about to get a serious boost. The Radio Hall of Fame is preparing to celebrate its 2026 class of Legends, an induction ceremony set to take place on Thursday, October 8th, at the iconic Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park.

Adding a layer of excitement to the anticipation is the hosting lineup. Bobby Bones, the star of The Bobby Bones Show and Bobby Bones Presents: The Bobbycast, will be leading the charge for the event, ensuring the celebration is filled with the vibrant spirit of modern radio.

This year’s selection process was a massive undertaking, pitting the industry against itself. Nine posthumous honors are being awarded to figures whose extraordinary careers have undeniably shaped the history and lasting impact of broadcast media. Among the celebrated 2026 Legends are on-air personality and television producer Wink Martindale, pioneering broadcaster and record executive Vivian Carter, network radio executive Gary Krantz, radio station owner D.E. “Duke” Wright, and legendary on-air personalities Lin Brehmer, Dale Dorman, B. Mitchell Reed, Pierre Robert, and Polito Vega.

The inductees represent a rich tapestry of radio history. For instance, Wink Martindale is celebrated for landing a top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and his spoken word record, “Deck of Cards,” reached No. 7 in November 1959. Meanwhile, Vivian Carter was a pioneering broadcaster and record executive, instrumental in establishing the influential Vee-Jay Records label.

The selection process itself was a testament to industry consensus. The voting panel, comprising more than 950 industry professionals, meticulously selected the inductees from a pool of 24 nominees. This deep dive into radio greatness was overseen by industry leaders and conducted with precision, ensuring that only those who made the most significant contributions were recognized.

The legacy of the Radio Hall of Fame is clearly defined by the impact these individuals have had on listeners and advertisers alike. Dennis Green, co-chair of the Hall, highlighted this sentiment, stating that the recognition honors those whose careers have made the industry significantly more impactful. As co-chair Kraig Kitchin added, it was an honor to witness the induction of these legends, hoping the recognition benefits their families, colleagues, and listeners.

The ceremony on October 8th is more than just an awards night; it is a powerful gathering to celebrate the enduring voice of radio. Fans and professionals alike can look forward to celebrating these industry titans and reflecting on the remarkable journeys of these radio pioneers.
