KoRn finished recording their new album

The heavyweights of nu-metal, KoRn, have officially wrapped up recording their latest project, bringing fresh, raw energy to the music scene.

This new release, titled Reward The Scars, was specifically crafted as an anthem for the video game Diablo IV: Lord Of Hatred, offering listeners a deep dive into the world of conflict and intensity.

The process of creating the album was anything but simple. Guitarist James Shaffer revealed that the band spent considerable time immersed in the material, noting they had written, gone through, rewritten, and completely rebuilt nearly forty songs for the new record. This intensive, critical approach reflects the band’s dedication to maintaining their unique sound.

The commitment to authenticity is clear. Shaffer emphasized that the process was lengthy, driven by a desire to keep their original sonic identity intact, a commitment that resulted in the powerful, cohesive sound that defines KoRn.

Adding to the creative details, drummer Ray Luzier’s drum tech, Mark Bennett, confirmed that the recording sessions are complete. Speaking about the experience, Bennett mentioned the unique tools they used, including a Pearl Copper Free Floating snare, highlighting the technical side of their production.

While the specifics of the final tracklist remain under wraps, the mood surrounding the release is one of palpable progress. Lead vocalist Brian Welch has recently shared that the band is currently focusing their energy on their live performances, feeling that the momentum of their shows is already strong.

Despite this focus on the stage, there are hints of exciting future moves. Welch suggested that while an immediate new album isn’t the priority, there are certainly surprises in the pipeline, promising cool announcements and dates around the world in the coming year.

The band’s influence continues to resonate far beyond their studio work. Their hit track Freak On A Leash recently caught fire on TikTok, thanks to a popular dance trend involving stars like Zara Larsson, demonstrating the lasting cultural impact of their music.

Looking ahead, the nu-metal giants are gearing up for a major expansion, planning a new headline tour that will see them take to the UK and Europe for the first time in over a decade, ready to bring their powerful sound to massive audiences.
