Indie Record Stores Throw Parties for Vinyl Release
The buzz around the television show Heated Rivalry has exploded, creating a cultural phenomenon that is now reverberating across the Canadian music scene. This intense narrative isn’t just captivating audiences; it’s fueled a massive movement for music discovery and community celebration, leading to an unprecedented campaign for the soundtrack’s physical release.
To celebrate this excitement, the show’s soundtrack has officially landed on vinyl and CD, providing fans with tangible ways to connect with the music. But the party doesn’t end there. Indie music stores across North America are stepping up to host listening parties, inviting the public to dive deep into the sound of Heated Rivalry.
Between July 10 and 12, twenty-nine record stores nationwide will be hosting these interactive events. These aren’t just casual listens; they are full-blown celebrations, promising attendees freebie items, exclusive merchandise, activities, and signed prizes, turning local shops into vibrant hubs for music lovers.
The campaign is reaching communities from coast to coast, mapping out a diverse network of participating stores. From Alberta’s Fort McMurray to Ontario’s Toronto and Hamilton, and stretching through British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec, the reach is wide and inclusive.
Across Canada, this music exploration is being championed by beloved local spots. In Alberta, stores like The Music Room YMM and Poprocks Candy and Vinyl are taking part. British Columbia features Relove Records in New Westminster and Elevated Music in Surrey, while Manitoba’s Winnipeg has Argy’s Records and Frenchie’s Records on the roster.
The network continues to span the Maritimes and Quebec, with Folkd Up Records in Perth-Andover and Taz Records in Halifax. Ontario boasts numerous locations, including Bud’s Records in Cornwall and Revolution Records in Dundas and Hamilton. In the massive Toronto area alone, shops like Dead Dog Records, Dine Alone Store, High Notes Coffee + Vinyl, and Kops Records are joining the festivities.
The celebration continues as physical media evolves. Fans can now pre-order the soundtrack on cassette, set for release on August 14th, ensuring that the energy generated by Heated Rivalry will continue to play long after the listening parties conclude. This movement proves that music is more than just a medium—it’s a powerful community experience.
