Colin Moulding’s musical journey is deeply intertwined with one of the UK’s most beloved and enduring bands, XTC. While Andy Partridge often takes the spotlight as the frontman, Moulding’s contributions to the band are foundational, weaving essential threads through their classic sound.
Since the band first formed in 1972, Moulding provided crucial musical infrastructure. He was instrumental on the bass guitar, but his influence extended far beyond the rhythm section. Moulding has contributed vocals on lead tracks and penned some of the band’s most iconic songwriting, resulting in classic hits such as “Generals And Majors“ and “Making Plans For Nigel“.
Beyond his work with XTC, Moulding has explored various creative avenues, participating in several side projects that showcase his versatility.
