‘Chuck Timely & The Hourglass’ hits Top 10 on 6 Billboard charts
The music world is buzzing with fresh releases, and the latest entry makes waves across the charts. Role Model’s third full-length studio album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, has successfully debuted in the top 10 across six major Billboard charts, showcasing strong performance and broad appeal.
The momentum behind the release was undeniable. The album launched with the singer-songwriter’s best sales week yet, moving 24,000 copies in the United States during the week ending August 13, according to Luminate.
This success translated into significant placement across various categories. Chuck Timely & The Hourglass landed at No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 2 on the Vinyl Albums chart, and No. 3 on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts. Furthermore, the project also entered the Indie Store Album Sales chart at No. 9, while also making an appearance on the prestigious Billboard 200.
The strong initial sales were fueled by a strategic approach to distribution. The album was available in 12 different physical formats, including CD, vinyl, and cassette, along with signed editions, ensuring there was a choice for every listener. These physical variants, combined with digital download options, contributed significantly to the first-week success.
While Role Model enjoyed this impressive debut, the overall Top Album Sales chart is a snapshot of a highly competitive landscape. For context, the Top Album Sales chart ranks albums based purely on sales (physical and digital downloads combined). Stray Kids’ THIS & THAT claimed the No. 1 spot on the Top Album Sales chart, marking the group’s best sales week yet with 357,000 copies sold and cementing their position as the ninth leader. Other noteworthy entries included Sleep Token’s instrumentals of Even In Arcadia, which ranked No. 8, and Ethel Cain’s Preacher’s Daughter, which reentered the charts at No. 9.
Finally, Steve Lacy’s Oh yeah? also made its return to the Top Album Sales rankings, landing at No. 10 after its strong presence in physical and digital stores.
