  • Phoebe Bridgers shares first single from new LP ‘Lost Weekend’ ft. Lucy Dacus, Julien Baker, Alex G, more

    Phoebe Bridgers has officially opened a new chapter for her fans, announcing the release of her album Lost Weekend, following a six-year wait. To kick off this fresh era, she has released the first taste with the single “Lost Boys,” a track that immediately captures the intimate, atmospheric mood of her latest work.

    The track itself is a masterclass in layered sound, born from an impressive creative lineup. “Lost Boys” was produced by the formidable trio of Tony Berg, Ethan Gruska, and Jack Antonoff. Adding depth to the sonic landscape were contributions from Alex G, who provided additional production, drums, and voice memo, alongside shared vocals from her boygenius bandmates, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker.

    The depth of the collaboration extends across the creative team. Other key contributors on the track include longtime collaborators such as Christian Lee Hutson on acoustic guitar, Marshall Vore on drums and percussion, Harrison Whitford on electric and twelve-string guitar, Blake Mills on synthesizers, and Chris Thile on mandolin. The result is a rich tapestry of sound that speaks to the enduring strength of her musical circle.

    Lost Weekend is slated for release on August 14th via Dead Oceans. Beyond the studio release, Bridgers is embarking on an ambitious phone-free tour supporting the album starting in September. This journey will feature high-profile collaborations, notably with Alex G, Isaac Wood, and Anaïs.

    The tour schedule is extensive, spanning major venues across the United States and internationally. Fans can look forward to seeing her perform at iconic locations, including Brooklyn shows at the Barclays Center on September 24th, 25th, and 26th, alongside appearances at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, as well as dates across major cities like Chicago, Boston, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

    The schedule stretches through the fall and winter months, taking attendees from Indianapolis and St. Paul to Toronto, Dublin, and various European cities, demonstrating a truly global reach for this new artistic endeavor. The upcoming tour will continue to unfold across numerous venues until December 2026.

  • beabadoobee Details Star-Studded ‘Pylon’ LP

    In a move that proves some creative connections are simply meant to be, beabadoobee and The Marías recently delivered a dreamy single, “All I Did Was Dream of You.” But the creative momentum doesn’t stop there, as singer/songwriter Beatrice Laus is ready to open a brand new chapter in her story.

    Laus is gearing up for her fourth album, Pylon, which is set to drop on September 18th via Dirty Hit and Interscope. Following the success of 2024’s U.K. chart-topper This Is How Tomorrow Moves, this new record promises a sonic evolution, previewed by the latest single “Sun Has Set” and a compelling first-person video directed by longtime visual collaborator Jake Erland.

    The concept behind the album title, Pylon, draws inspiration from the towering electrical structures that crisscross the globe. For Laus, these lines evolved into a powerful symbol—a tether to home amidst the isolation experienced while on the road. The pylons served as a reminder of family and friends even as touring created a sense of disconnect, ultimately inspiring the album’s jagged, forceful identity.

    Musically, Pylon deepens Laus’ established love for rock music while inviting an eclectic lineup of alternative talent. The track “Nothing To Prove” features Paramore’s Hayley Williams, delivering an anthem about reclaiming power from temporary friendships. Brendan Yates of Turnstile lends his voice to the brooding “Powerlines,” while guests include Pinegrove’s Evan Stephens Hall, Deftones’ Chino Moreno, and Title Fight’s Shane Moran. Adding to the creative tapestry, Matty Healy and George Daniel of the 1975 contributed production work on the track “Write Me a Letter.”

    This new material is set to hit the road with the Powerlines tour this fall, marking Laus’ first arena trek and biggest headlining run to date. Beginning October 1st, the journey will take her to massive venues including Madison Square Garden in New York, Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, and London’s O2. The tour is supported by Wisp and Violet Grohl across North America, Canada, and the U.K., with Violet Grohl joining the European leg.

  • The ‘Eyes’ Have It On New Sam Smith LP

    Sam Smith is leaning into romance with their highly anticipated fifth album, Hazel Eyes, which is set to arrive on August 21 via Capitol Records. This project marks Smith’s first full-length work since the acclaimed Gloria release in 2023, promising a deeply personal and emotionally rich musical experience.

    The album has already begun generating buzz, highlighted by the lead single, “My Guy.” This track is a buoyant celebration of fully requited love, layered with harmonies from Feist and singer/songwriter Moses Sumney, adding a playful, girl-group inspired flourish to its lovestruck sentiment. It was co-written by Smith alongside Feist and multi-instrumentalist Shahzad Ismaily.

    Smith describes the creation of Hazel Eyes as a journey that has spanned over three years, representing one of their most personal artistic statements. “This album is an incredibly special record to me,” Smith shared. They revealed that the project was crafted with a small group of dear friends, deepening their artistic perspective through the process of production and songwriting.

    The sound of Hazel Eyes is a wonderfully eclectic blend, weaving together baroque pop, British folk, outlaw country, and left-field R&B. This rich sonic tapestry foregrounds Smith’s signature vocal performances and intimate songwriting, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and expansive.

    The sprawling 12-song set was largely shaped in New York, where Smith now resides. Co-produced by Smith alongside Simon Aldred and David Odlum, the recording process drew heavily on collaborations with artists like Feist, Ismaily, and string arranger Rob Moose, with parts of the work captured at the legendary Electric Lady Studios.

    The excitement surrounding the new release is fueled by Smith’s recent performances. The announcement follows a special appearance where Smith mixed career-spanning material with unreleased songs from Hazel Eyes during residency shows that featured surprise guests including Hozier, Ed Sheeran, Brandi Carlile, SIENNA SPIRO, and Kim Petras.

    As the album prepares for release, Smith is also gearing up for a special performance on Friday (June 26) at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center in New York, kicking off Pride weekend at the first LGBTQ+ visitor center within the National Park Service.
