Jorja Smith, Nemzzz, Beabadoobee: Hometown Gig Run announced
Spotify is putting on a treat for music lovers by announcing a new series of ‘Hometown’ shows, bringing intimate, community-focused gigs from stars Jorja Smith, Nemzzz, and Beabadoobee.
These special performances will see the three artists return to the very communities where their musical journeys began, offering a chance to connect deeply with their roots over one-night-only concerts this September.
The timing is perfectly aligned with fresh album campaigns. Jorja Smith is celebrating the release of her third record, ‘What Are The Odds‘, which comes out on August 21. Nemzzz will be releasing ‘Locked In‘ on September 4, while Beabadoobee’s highly anticipated album ‘Pylon‘ arrives on September 18.
The itinerary traces a path across the UK, starting in the places that shaped the artists. Jorja Smith will open the series in her hometown of Walsall on September 6. Nemzzz will follow in Manchester on September 12, and Beabadoobee will close the run in London on September 17, the day before ‘Pylon‘ is released.
Spotify is keeping the access exclusive and personal. Instead of a public ticket sale, the platform will invite selected top listeners for each artist to attend these intimate events. For those who can’t make it, concert films will premiere exclusively on Spotify in the weeks following the gigs.
The initiative is more than just a concert series; it’s a celebration of where these artists found their sound. Smith reflected on her origins, noting that Walsall is where her musical journey began and continues to influence her creativity today. Nemzzz shared that celebrating Manchester feels like a natural extension of representing where he is from. Similarly, Beabadoobee emphasized the importance of London, stating it was where they found their community and started making music.
The tone of the shows promises a mix of raw talent and heartfelt storytelling, offering an immersive experience rooted in the geography and history of the artists themselves.
