HEALTH, Ice Nine Kills & Periphery soundtrack Crimson Moon
Get ready to plunge into a world steeped in gothic grandeur and blood-soaked action. Set to launch on September 1, the highly anticipated role-playing game Crimson Moon is arriving to redefine the action-adventure genre.
Crimson Moon, developed by indie studio ProbablyMonsters, invites players to assume the roles of Nephilim—ruthless human-angel hybrids tasked with defending humanity. Prepare for an immersive blood-soaked power fantasy that blends intense combat with a truly unique aesthetic.
The core gameplay focuses on battling through the besieged city of Gildenarch. Players can engage in combat that demands brutal precision while allowing for deep character progression. Whether tackling the challenges solo or diving into co-op play, players will experience encounters designed to test resilience and mastery over their divine abilities.
The world itself is built to scale. Solo slayers face formidable monsters in a satisfying single-player experience, but the real epic challenge lies in the cooperative mode. To confront the ultimate threat, players must first defeat three sprawling districts of Gildenarch to unlock the hellish final boss—a true test of coordinated power and sheer grit.
But what truly sets Crimson Moon apart is the symphony of its soundtrack. The game’s atmosphere is amplified by a collaboration featuring some heavy hitters from the music world. Chris Wilson and ProbablyMonsters’ music manager Steve Pardo composed the score, and they teamed up with rock legends HEALTH, Ice Nine Kills, and Periphery.
The resulting score features four original tracks specifically crafted to punctuate the intense boss fights. Misha Mansoor of Periphery and Jared Dines of Periphery, along with members of HEALTH and Ice Nine Kills, contributed their talent, ensuring that every monster encounter is scored by heavy metal intensity.
“When I got invited to collaborate with the incredible team at ProbablyMonsters to help bring Crimson Moon to life, I was so honored,” stated Misha Mansoor. “The game is an epic action RPG that brings gothic and classical elements together with heavy metal, and making these tracks was a blast.”
Director David Lesperance emphasized the commitment to accessibility alongside the epic scope of the project. “We’ve made Crimson Moon an intense action-adventure RPG that’s approachable to players,” he noted. “With our gothic-inspired art design, co-op support, and epic metal soundtrack, we’ve made something truly unique for gamers to experience this September.”
Crimson Moon promises more than just gameplay; it offers an unforgettable journey where high-stakes action meets a gothic sensibility, all underscored by the roar of heavy metal.
