Glen Hansard’s Family Announces Memorial and Funeral Details in Dublin

A public wake has been arranged for Hansard at the Baroque Chapel at IMMA, Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin. Mourners are invited to pay respects on Monday, August 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The public will also be able to join Glen’s family for his funeral service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin on Tuesday, August 4th, at 1:30 p.m. While the service will be open to the public, access inside the cathedral will be strictly limited due to the expected large number of attendees.

To ensure that tributes focus on positive action rather than gifts, Hansard’s family has requested that well-wishers forgo flowers and gifts. Instead, they ask that donations be made to charitable causes championed by Glen, specifically supporting Dublin’s Simon Community or Ukrainian Action.
