Yves Tumor replaced on Turnstile tour following assault claims
Yves Tumor’s recent musical tour took an unexpected turn following serious allegations that emerged against him, leading to a significant change in his professional engagements.
Reports of sexual assault began to surface last month after images surfaced on the Yves Tumor subreddit. These photos were accompanied by text alleging that Tumor had sexually assaulted someone close to him. The situation quickly escalated with further allegations from other artists. For example, musician Angel Money took to social media to claim that Tumor had “groped” her on camera.
The turmoil extended beyond these initial claims. Another artist, Kidä, who contributed to Yves Tumor’s music, shared her experience working with him, describing it as “one of the most disrespectful professional experiences of my career.”
In response to these widespread allegations, Yves Tumor addressed the claims publicly. He used his Instagram story to state that the reports were “100 per cent untrue and also completely heartbreaking,” and he declared that he would be taking “extreme legal action.”
The professional fallout was swift. Yves Tumor was subsequently removed from Turnstile’s ongoing tour. The tour had been announced with a roster of high-profile openers, including Clipse, Ceremony, Thundercat, Hatebreed, and Vince Staples.
As a result of the situation, immediate replacements were sought for the planned dates. For the Toronto performance, Canadian hardcore punk band No Warning stepped in. For the Raleigh show, the Tampa death metal group Obituary was announced as the replacement. In Portland, the band Dinosaur Jr. joined the lineup for the event.
The tour schedule included performances in Toronto on September 12, Portland, Maine, on September 26, and Raleigh on September 29. These changes ensured that the tour continued, albeit with updated and newly announced lineups.
