Your Shot Expands: Coming to Denver and Miami in 2026

This no-experience-necessary DJ academy and competition is expanding its influence, bringing this transformative opportunity to four major US cities.

Founded in Australia in 2010, Your Shot has spent over a decade guiding complete beginners through the complex world of music production and performance. Over these years, the program has successfully turned novices into working artists, producing alumni like Tigerlily, Sippy, and Go Freek who are now making waves across the industry.

The success of the inaugural US season was staggering. More than 500 first-time DJs participated, culminating in showcase weekends in Los Angeles and New York that drew over 10,000 attendees. The talent was undeniable, with two female DJs, Jelly Bean and Punky Butter, emerging as top winners and securing coveted opening slots at major festivals like CRSSD and Elements Music & Arts Festival.

Selected participants immerse themselves for six weeks at The Academy, where they receive intensive instruction from industry professionals covering everything from mixing techniques and music selection to live performance mastery. This intensive training prepares them for the ultimate test: performing in front of real crowds and talent scouts.

To ensure participants are learning with the tools of the trade, AlphaTheta, the company behind Pioneer DJ, is supplying mixers and controllers across all four cities. Sony is also joining the team as a partner, providing professional speakers and headphones, ensuring that every student learns on equipment they will encounter in actual club or festival settings.
