The chaos unfolded Thursday night (August 27) around 11 pm at the Talking Sticks Amphitheatre and Resort in Phoenix. Local police were called to the scene after a 24-year-old woman named Grace Vicente reportedly entered an ambulance parked outside the venue. Instead of a peaceful evening, Vicente reportedly drove the vehicle a short distance before crashing it into another car.
Upon detention by law enforcement, Vicente faced serious charges, including driving under the influence and theft of a vehicle. The situation was complicated by the fact that the ambulance had been parked outside the site following a call for the event, with the keys reportedly left inside when paramedics exited the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle that the ambulance struck was thankfully taken to the hospital, sustaining no life-threatening injuries. While the scene was chaotic, the collision itself was not life-threatening, leaving behind a story that felt as bizarre as a rock concert mishap.
Vicente’s legal team offered a perspective on the incident, describing the event as “completely out of her normal nature.” This testimony added a layer of unexpected drama to an already unusual situation.
This unexpected drama took place against the backdrop of a major music tour. The event was part of a co-headline tour featuring Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte, an event that kicked off in Missouri and wrapped up in Los Angeles just days earlier.
The tour itself featured performances by both bands, with Avenged Sevenfold recently releasing their new EP, Statica, and Good Charlotte following up with their eighth studio album, Motel Du Cap.
Even while facing legal repercussions, the tour continued its momentum. For Avenged Sevenfold, the band is gearing up for further international shows in Brazil, Malaysia, and Japan, with plans extending to Australia and Singapore and beyond.
