Watch Dracula reveal Lita Ford’s new music
After more than a decade of silence, rock icon Lita Ford is back in the spotlight, dropping a new musical offering that is as dark, playful, and undeniably potent as ever. The former Runaway is launching a new era with the Halloween-friendly single, Dracula, promising a journey into the seductive and menacing world of the supernatural.
Dracula delves into themes of seduction and control, exploring the intoxicating feeling of flirting with disaster. Ford herself describes the song as a powerful fantasy, noting how the moaning slide guitars take on a life force all their own, injecting a thrilling sense of menace into the experience.
This new release marks a significant step for Ford, following her previous work, including the acclaimed album of lost recordings, Time Capsule, from 2016. It is a bold creative move that signals a renewed energy and a willingness to explore the dramatic and expressive side of her musical legacy.
The magic behind Dracula was crafted by a talented team. The track was produced by Gary Hoey, who previously contributed to Ford’s 2012 album Living Like a Runaway, . The performance featured Ford alongside Hoey and drummer Bobby Rock, who has been a fixture in Ford’s touring life since 2013.
This single is part of a larger, exciting chapter for Ford. Earlier this month, she officially sealed a deal with the Italian label Frontiers Music Srl, a move that has embraced her ongoing creative trajectory. Jeff Stevenson, GM of Frontiers Label Group, expressed immense pride, recognizing Ford as an artist whose influence continues to inspire generations.
Stevenson highlighted that what excites the label most is Ford’s continued forward-looking creativity, noting that she has chosen Frontiers for this next chapter, and they are eager to hear what she has planned next.
To celebrate the release of Dracula, Ford is hitting the road. She will be performing two shows this weekend, starting at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV, on Friday. Saturday night brings a performance at the Ladies of Rock Festival at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino in Rancho Mirage, CA, sharing the stage with Vixen and Orianthi.
The momentum continues beyond the weekend, as Ford is also scheduled to support the Gene Simmons Band at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill in St. Petersburg, FL, on January 30.
