WARM 2026 Dance Report: Biggest Artists & Top Tracks

The Global Pulse of Dance: Unpacking the 2026 Half-Year Insights

The world of dance music is constantly shifting, and to understand the rhythm of the current era, you need to look beyond the playlists and into the airwaves. The World Airplay Radio Monitor has just released its comprehensive 2026 H1 Dance Insights report, offering a fascinating comparison of the first half of 2026 against the previous six months. This deep dive reveals how artists, labels, collaborations, and geography are influencing the global dance landscape.

How do you measure the seismic shifts in music? This report answers by analyzing airplay data gathered from 218 dedicated dance radio stations spanning 39 countries. This extensive panel includes major broadcasters like BBC Radio 1 and NTS Radio in the UK, as well as influential platforms such as SiriusXM’s BPM and Diplo’s Revolution, alongside Ibiza Global Radio in Spain. It’s a truly global snapshot of what’s currently keeping the dance pulse beating.

When you look at the undisputed champions of the period, the results are clear. ANOTR’s track “Talk to You,” featuring 54 Ultra, emerged as the most played song across the first half of 2026, accumulating 15,087 plays. This track didn’t just top the charts; it held the No. 1 position on the weekly WARM Global Dance Airplay chart for an impressive 17 consecutive weeks, establishing itself as a monumental hit.

But the dance world is brimming with talent. The top 100 list features artists from 26 countries across six continents, illustrating a vibrant, diverse global scene. While the United Kingdom and the United States remain the anchors, contributing 25.6% and 20.7% respectively, the real magic lies in the rest of the world, which accounts for a staggering 53.7% of all appearances. Countries like France, Germany, and the Netherlands lead the international charge, but the talent pool stretches across South Korea, Brazil, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe, proving that dance culture knows no borders.

Looking at the sonic landscape, dance pop clearly reigns supreme. With 40 tracks charting, dance pop accounts for 38.8% of the entire list. This dominance is fueled by subgenres like House, which accounted for 17 songs, and tech house, with 12 tracks. Together, these three powerhouse genres make up two-thirds of the top 100, demonstrating a powerful preference for rhythmic, groove-heavy music.

Adding further texture to this mix, the list also reveals the deep roots of certain sounds. Afro house is a significant force, securing 10 titles among the top hits, underscoring the undeniable global influence of African rhythms on contemporary dance music.

In summary, the 2026 half-year data paints a vivid picture: a massive global participation, centered heavily outside the traditional Anglosphere, and a relentless focus on House, tech house, and Afro house as the driving forces of the dance music charts. The story is one of decentralized rhythm and universal connection.
