Vince Staples Announces 2027 Australia Tour
Vince Staples Returns to Australia for the Cry Baby Tour in 2027
Rapper Vince Staples is making a grand return to the Antipodes, announcing a headline tour in support of his latest offering, Cry Baby. This tour will bring the sound of the “Norf Norf” artist to Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne in January 2027, marking his first major headline run in Australia in nearly a decade.
The extensive tour is presented by Untitled Group and Beyond the Valley, positioning the journey as a celebration of Staples’ evolving artistic direction. It will anchor the run around his performance at the sold-out Beyond the Valley festival, where he has already established himself as a major headliner.
The new album, Cry Baby, represents a significant shift in Staples’ sound. Released in June via Section Eight Arthouse, Loma Vista, and Concord, the record moves away from the introspective, hometown focus of his previous work, such as Ramona Park Broke My Heart and Dark Times. Instead, this album is an outward-facing exploration of social commentary, built upon rich live instrumentation.
Staples has been showcasing this musical evolution by performing the material with a live band, a move he first debuted at his highly successful Los Angeles album release. The tour promises a fresh, dynamic experience for Australian audiences.
Staples’ career trajectory has been marked by consistent success. His 2017 sophomore album, Big Fish Theory, achieved a strong debut of No. 16 on the Billboard 200, setting a high bar that has been maintained with each subsequent release, including his 2021 self-titled album, which charted at No. 21.
Beyond music, Staples has successfully expanded his creative footprint into television, starring in and creating the Netflix comedy The Vince Staples Show, which premiered in 2024. This versatility demonstrates an artist constantly pushing boundaries across different mediums.
