Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp launch their terrifying Sunday Lunch video
When Ghosts Meet Glamour: Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp Embrace Halloween and Legacy
Internet sensations Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp have delivered their latest visual feast, plunging audiences into a spectacle that is as wickedly charming as it is playful. Their newest Sunday Lunch video finds the legendary pair in full Halloween mode, proving that glamour and gothic theatrics are perfectly compatible. Willcox steps into the role of a captivating witch, while Fripp dons a mask that suggests he might just be ready to swap places with a legendary figure from the world of heavy metal.
The mood is set by a carefully chosen soundtrack, a typically ragged rendition of Donovan’s Season Of The Witch, a classic tune that has resonated through generations. As the video climaxes, Fripp delivers a line through his mask that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the celebration: “Heeeargh a nassssy wicksy perssson,” declaring that this is their Sunday Lunch celebration, today and every season of the year.
Beyond the spooky fun, the artistic synergy between these celebrated figures continues to inspire. Meanwhile, the legacy of King Crimson remains a touchstone, continuing to expand its reach. Their pioneering partnership with the streaming service Nugs is ensuring that the history of the band is accessible to new fans. This success is built on the foundation of historic tours, including eight shows from their 1981 trip to Japan, where the much-loved Crimson lineup—featuring Fripp alongside Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, and Bill Bruford—delved into masterpieces like Discipline, Beat and Three Of A Perfect Pair.
In a related update, Toyah Willcox is preparing a major collection for her devoted fans. She will be releasing a comprehensive 24-CD box set on December 4th, titled Twenty-Four From Toyah. This stunning collection chronicles every single EP she released between 1979 and 1987, complete with rare mixes, outtakes, and live recordings. Fans can currently pre-order this treasure now.
