The Strokes and Phoebe Bridgers booked for SNL
Saturday Night Live is gearing up for a November lineup packed with rock royalty and indie icons, bringing back The Strokes and Phoebe Bridgers for upcoming episodes. The show’s hosting dynamic is also evolving, with comedian Druski making his debut as host on November 7, and John Mulaney returning to the stage on November 14.
The musical guests bring a blend of classic and contemporary sounds. The Strokes will be joining Druski, who is currently promoting his Netflix comedy series Collect and Praise. The band is on the road supporting their latest album, Reality Awaits, marking their first appearance as musical guests in six years.
Phoebe Bridgers will also be making her solo appearance on the program, following a recent collaboration with the supergroup boygenius in 2023. Her return adds a unique layer of history to the show’s roster.
Bridgers’ appearance connects to a memorable moment from a previous performance. During a 2021 show, she performed “I Know the End” and smashed her guitar against a stage monitor, causing sparks and sparking a flurry of online commentary—including some criticism from figures like the late David Crosby.
In response to the ensuing reaction, Bridgers framed the stunt as purely a bucket list item. In a later interview, she explained that the monitor had been intentionally built to look like it was about to explode, and she joked about the idea of simply burning it next time.
The show’s 52nd season has already provided a rich tapestry of musical talent, featuring acts like KATSEYE, Turnstile, ROSALÍA, and Gracie Abrams. The shift in musical guests and hosts continues to keep the audience engaged, proving that SNL remains a platform for both musical spectacle and irreverent humor.
