The Kit announces Ghost Coat hear “Skim A Stone”

Paris-based Kate Stables is gearing up for another musical triumph, bringing her distinctive folk-tinged indie rock sound to the masses with her latest offering. For fans who have followed her journey, this new project promises to be a richly layered experience, continuing the tradition of quality and collaborative spirit that defines her work.

The album, titled Ghost Coat, is slated for release in January, promising a fresh dose of atmosphere and melody for listeners. What makes this release particularly noteworthy is its impressive scope, billed as Stables’ most collaborative effort to date.

The music was captured in a location steeped in musical history: the legendary Rockfield Studios in rural Wales. This isn’t just any recording space; it’s a venue renowned for hosting iconic sessions by legends such as the Stone Roses, Oasis, Motörhead, and Queen, adding an undeniable layer of gravitas to the creation of the new LP.

The sound itself is a tapestry woven from diverse talents. Beyond Kate Stables, the project features a host of talented contributors who have lent their voices and skills to the record. These collaborators include Richard Dawson, Sam Amidon, Ben Howard, and the brothers Valentin and Marceau Portron of Portron Portron Lopez, alongside Emma Broughton, known by her moniker Blumi.

This rich array of input ensures that Ghost Coat is more than just a solo endeavor; it is a vibrant celebration of shared musical vision, pushing the boundaries of sound while honoring the deep, collaborative roots of indie rock.
