The Fray Australia NZ Tour Set and Confessional
The lights are getting brighter, and the music is about to take flight. The celebrated piano-rock outfit The Fray is gearing up for a major return to Australia and New Zealand in February 2027 with the highly anticipated Summer of Light Tour.
Less than two years after their spectacular run Down Under, this tour promises to be an unforgettable celebration of their enduring sound. The itinerary is cleverly structured, pairing intimate, indoor headline performances with expansive outdoor dates, blending the energy of the Lookout Festival series with exclusive venue appearances.
The eight-date trek will deliver a diverse experience, taking fans across the continent. The indoor portion of the tour, presented by TEG Live, will feature headline shows at venues including Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena, Wollongong’s Waves, Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, and Auckland’s Eventfinda Stadium. These intimate performances will be bolstered by stellar support from fellow artists like Dashboard Confessional and Australian talent Rachael Fahim.
Meanwhile, the Lookout Festival dates, presented by Face to Face Touring, offer a different kind of energy. Fans can look forward to catching The Fray alongside acts such as Bastille, Dashboard Confessional, Killing Heidi, and Little Birdy across locations like Torquay, Perth, Lake Macquarie, and Sandstone Point.
This tour serves as the launchpad for their latest work, supporting A Light That Waits, Denver’s powerful new album released in March. It’s a fresh, compelling body of work, and the performance will feature the band in their first full trio configuration, led by singer-guitarist Joe King, guitarist Dave Welsh, and drummer Ben Wysocki.
“We had such an incredible time touring in Australia in 2025. The energy from those crowds was unbelievable,” King shared. “To come back and be able to share A Light That Waits alongside the songs fans have grown up with — and to have our long-time friends Dashboard Confessional with us — is going to make these nights unforgettable.”
The Fray’s journey is rooted in massive success. Their 2005 debut album, How to Save a Life, remains a cultural touchstone, achieving four-times platinum status and sparking a marathon 58-week chart run. They have built a legacy of platinum sales and critical acclaim, earning multiple Grammy nominations and accolades throughout their career.
Mark your calendars for the excitement. Tickets go on general sale on Thursday, September 17th at 10 a.m. local time, following special artist and promoter presales earlier in the week. Get ready for the Summer of Light.
