Apple Corps is set to dramatically redefine the experience of The Beatles in their hometown of Liverpool, embarking on a massive upgrade to the long-running “The Beatles Story” attraction. This monumental project involves relocating the attraction to a sprawling 100,000-square-foot venue, which is more than quadruple the size of its predecessor.

The new, expanded facility will open in 2027 and will be situated across from Liverpool Lime Street station, taking up the site of the former St Johns Market. Beyond the physical expansion, the project promises an immersive experience, including a special “Yellow Submarine”-themed viewing experience set up atop the city’s St Johns Beacon tower. This marks Apple Corps’ first official fan experience based in Liverpool, following the planned opening of a separate Beatles museum at the company’s London headquarters.

The new attraction aims to transport visitors directly into the history of the band. It will feature immersive technology, original artifacts, and spectacular reconstructed sets, allowing fans to step inside iconic locations and moments from Beatles history, including the Cavern, Abbey Road, Shea Stadium, and Savile Row. These elaborate sets and props will be drawn from Sam Mendes’ in-progress four-film biopic series.

The transformation is steeped in emotion, recognizing Liverpool’s central role in the band’s ascent. Paul McCartney shared his excitement, noting how incredible it is that people remain so interested in the band’s story. He expressed deep appreciation for the plans, emphasizing that the entire journey, from Liverpool to the world and back home, was made possible by the city.

Apple Corps CEO Tom Greene echoed this sentiment, declaring that the new destination is fitting, much like Graceland or Dollywood, ensuring that The Beatles have a world-class destination in the heart of the city where their story began.

Beyond the historical immersion, the project is deeply committed to the community. Proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit the Apple Corps Liverpool Trust, an initiative dedicated to providing financial support and opportunities for emerging Liverpool artists and cultural efforts. It is a celebration of legacy, history, and the vibrant culture that gave rise to one of the world’s most influential musical acts.
