Taskmaster Live: Global Stage Tour

The world of comedy is about to get a massive upgrade, as the creators of Taskmaster are gearing up for an epic live spectacle. Details have just been announced for two major live events in 2027, promising contestants, celebrity guests, and plenty of mayhem for audiences worldwide.

Taskmaster Live On Stage will transform the familiar format into an arena-sized event, featuring three celebrity contestants alongside two members chosen from the audience. All the chaos will be orchestrated by the beloved UK hosts, Greg Davies and Alex Horne, who will set the tasks for this ambitious tour.

The journey kicks off in style, with the first stop slated for the AO Arena in Manchester on May 26, 2027. But the adventure doesn’t end there; the show is set to travel to Hollywood, concluding with a performance at the glamorous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on June 22, 2027.

The anticipation is already palpable, with tickets set to go on sale next week. Fans can sign up for early access and stay in the loop through the official channel.

The vision behind the show is clearly aimed at grand scale. As Alex Horne shared his excitement, the prospect of bringing Monty Python and Oasis-esque venues—the Manchester Arena and the Hollywood Bowl—is exhilarating. Greg Davies, the mastermind behind the vision, remains confident that the judging will be balanced, even if Alex is expected to be slightly… unhinged.

The origins of Taskmaster are rooted in the grassroots, starting as an Edinburgh Fringe Show before finding a massive following on television. Since its premiere on Dave in 2015, the series has become a staple, airing twenty-two seasons on Channel 4.

The success of the format lies in its pure, unscripted spirit. Alex Horne explains that the team’s playful approach is key to their success. They encourage the comedians to simply focus on completing the task, trusting that the inherent humour and spontaneity will ensure an entertaining experience, rather than focusing solely on a scripted performance.

This commitment to genuine fun is further demonstrated by their previous live tours, which have already sold out in mere minutes across major cities like Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, and New York. Now, the prospect of taking this unique, anarchic formula onto the grandest stages promises to be an unforgettable cinematic event for 2027.
