The anticipation is building as the legendary group Maná prepares for one of their most exciting appearances yet, returning to the Estadio Ciudad de México on Sunday, July 5th. The band will close out the historic FIFA World Cup 2026 with a special halftime show during the electrifying match between Mexico and England, adding a dose of unforgettable musical flair to the global spectacle.
Maná confirmed their participation on Friday, July 3rd, sending an enthusiastic message to fans: “See you Sunday at halftime. Get ready to sing at the top of your lungs. Let it be heard all the way to England.” This invitation promises a spectacular performance that will resonate across continents.
The quartet, which includes lead singer Fher Olvera, guitarist Sergio Vallín, bassist Juan Calleros, and drummer Álex González, have already cemented their status as integral parts of the tournament’s opening ceremonies. They previously shared the stage with international stars like Shakira with Burna Boy, J Balvin, and Lila Downs, captivating an estimated global audience of 1.1 billion viewers.
The announcement for the halftime show comes just days after Maná engaged in some lighthearted banter with Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher regarding predictions for the Mexico-England game. In a humorous response, Olvera playfully countered Gallagher’s prediction of a 5-0 victory by stating, “5-0? Calm down! We’ll see what happens on Sunday, man.” This playful interaction perfectly captures the band’s unique and witty energy.
Beyond the World Cup festivities, Maná continues to connect with their massive fanbase through concerts. Earlier this year, they brought joy to Guadalajara by hosting a significant free concert on June 17th at the Glorieta de la Minerva, drawing approximately 170,000 attendees as part of the World Cup Fan Fest activities.
