System Of A Down’s Lone 2027 US Show
System of a Down is gearing up for one of the most anticipated performances in the band’s history, marking their sole North American stadium show scheduled for 2027. Fans can mark their calendars for June 5th, when the band will take the stage at the 65,000-capacity Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, backed by California rock veterans Pierce the Veil. This event isn’t just another concert; it represents the pinnacle of System’s career, following a high-energy two-night visit to the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles back in 2022.
The journey to this massive performance is built on a foundation of global success. Earlier this year, the Serj Tankian-led group celebrated the 25th birthday of their iconic album Toxicity, selling out massive stadiums across Europe. Beyond the music, the band recently hosted the Beyond the Streets exhibition in Los Angeles, showcasing artifacts and memorabilia from that era, further deepening the connection with their devoted audience.
While the spectacle is massive, the heart of System of a Down remains rooted in the relationships between its members. Guitarist Daron Malakian noted that the friendships within the band are particularly strong now. He shared that the members regularly reconnect over dinners and activities, including hockey games, emphasizing that this renewed bond is what makes enjoying the music even more rewarding.
The upcoming Rose Bowl gig is part of an expansive international campaign. It follows five previously announced stadium dates across South America, Australia, and New Zealand. This monumental tour is bolstered by synergistic partnerships, including a recent deal with Brazilian promoter 30e, which has also secured similar arrangements with Faith No More, who will open several of these performances.
The band’s career is filled with high-profile collaborations and performances. Serj Tankian recently shared the stage with Tom Morello at the Power to the People festival outside Washington, D.C., lending his voice to a performance of Audioslave’s “Like a Stone.”
The tour schedule showcases the band’s global reach, culminating in the Pasadena event.
