Snayx attacks manosphere with album Greed and single Gold Star

The world of alt-punk is buzzing, and from Brighton comes a trio that isn’t just playing loud—they’re screaming truths. The experimental group Snayx have officially dropped their highly anticipated debut album, Greed, alongside a blistering single that throws a harsh spotlight on modern societal obsessions.

Their latest offering, set to arrive on February 19, is more than just a collection of riffs; it’s an intense exploration of the relentless human desire for more. Across the thirteen tracks, Snayx dissect the multifaceted ways people chase what they want, whether it’s money, status, attention, or possessions, while simultaneously calling out the toxic undercurrents of the modern world.

The debut single, Gold Star, serves as a perfect manifesto. Co-written with Jordan Fish of Bring Me The Horizon and others, the track delivers a sharp critique of performative wealth and the self-appointed lifestyle gurus who mistake cash for personality. The band put their frustration into a punch that cuts straight to the chase: “Well done, you drive a nice car and got a round in, but that doesn’t make you any less insufferable.”

The album dives deep into these anxieties, tackling weighty topics such as social media addiction, self-destructive behavior, and the corrosive nature of extreme wealth. It pushes beyond their signature punk-inspired sound by integrating elements of electronica and psychedelia, a sonic evolution they honed while collaborating with the talents of Tigercub and the band NOISY.

Snayx are not afraid to innovate. Frontman Charlie Herridge and drummer Elaina “Lainey” Loops spoke about their artistic journey, aiming to find maturity in their songwriting rather than playing it safe. They sought to be taken more seriously as songwriters, allowing the explosion of ideas—and great riffs—to lead the way.

The tracklist for Greed is a chaotic yet cohesive journey, featuring anthems like ‘Violence’, ‘Wasted Again’, and the provocative single ‘Gold Star’, alongside melodic tracks such as ‘Nice Day 4 It’ and ‘Sunshine’.

Their sound pays homage to giants of rock and electronic music, weaving in influences from Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, The Chemical Brothers, and Basement Jaxx.

The energy behind Snayx is undeniable, whether they are shouting about political doom and gloom or celebrating the joy found in their music. This raw, powerful approach has built a dedicated following through their rampaging live shows.

The momentum is building for the road. Snayx will kick off their UK and European headline tour next March, hitting venues from Newcastle and London to the Czech Republic. The tour is set to run through May, taking them across Europe with dates in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Oslo, offering audiences a chance to experience their unique blend of furious punk and psychedelic electronic noise live.
