Broadway Star Justin Sargent Joins Skid Row as New Frontman

The heavy hitters of Skid Row have found their next voice, welcoming Broadway luminary Justin Sargent to the stage as the band’s new frontman. After months of intense conversations, rehearsals, and shared creative time, Sargent has officially joined the storied veterans, bringing a unique blend of theatrical experience and raw rock energy to the group.

Sargent is not just a new face; he brings a pedigree that has already touched the world of music production. Before joining Skid Row, he has collaborated extensively with Windborne Music, a respected Virginia-based production company, working on shows that feature the classics of rock giants like Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, and the Rolling Stones.

Despite having sung Skid Row songs for years, Sargent admitted that joining the band was an unexpected journey. “It’s an incredible honour to be part of something with such a legendary history,” he shared. “The chemistry and energy we’ve found together over the past several months has been amazing.”

The connection with the band was immediate and profound. Bassist Rachel Bolan noted that Sargent felt like he had been part of the group from the very start. “He was one of us. A lifer,” Bolan remarked, praising Sargent’s powerful delivery.

Guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo echoed this sentiment, noting the depth of the connection. While the band received numerous audition submissions, the choice of Sargent was clear. “The moment Justin walked in the door, we all kind of knew he was the guy. Everything about him: his voice, his attitude, his demeanour – it all just fit,” Sabo explained.

This dynamic immediately paid off, resulting in some exciting creative output. One of the first fruits of the new partnership was a high-energy cover of The Who’s 1971 classic Won’t Get Fooled Again, proving Sargent’s ability to deliver that signature rock scream. This track was released as a limited edition 7″ single.

Justin Sargent is now the fifth lead singer to grace the Skid Row lineup, following the departure of Sebastian Bach in 1996, and succeeding Johnny Solinger, Tony Harnell, ZP Theart, and Erik Grönwall.

The anticipation for Sargent’s arrival is already fueling the band’s upcoming schedule. Fans will get their first opportunity to see him perform live when the group tours next year. Sargent’s debut show is scheduled for March 3 at The Show at Agua Caliente in Rancho Mirage, CA.

The band is also slated to be part of major music festivals, including Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple festivals throughout 2027.
