Skepta debuts new songs from ‘Fork & Knife’ at Reading 2026
The Reading Festival 2026 stage was buzzing with anticipation, and the arrival of artist Skepta delivered a dose of fresh, raw energy. Beyond the main act, the performance offered fans a tantalizing glimpse into the upcoming world of the Fork & Knife album, debuting several new tracks that promise to redefine the sound.
Skepta introduced new material from the forthcoming project, a collection he was reportedly putting the final touches on back in April. The festival appearance provided the public with a preview of the sounds following his acclaimed 2019 album, Ignorance Is Bliss, and his recent house-influenced EP, Más Tiempo Vol. 2.
The set itself was a vibrant collision of sounds and unexpected appearances. Alongside the new tracks, Skepta welcomed Nigerian artist Slawn, who added a dynamic, visual element to the performance by live spray-painting across the stage, injecting an immediate, vibrant atmosphere into the show.
The musical journey included new cuts such as Pandora’s Box, Aloe Vera, and Innocent Smile, offering fans a taste of the creative juice that fuels Skepta’s work.
Perhaps the most memorable moment of the performance, however, involved a rather unique onstage invitation. While performing a collaborative track, Skepta invited two fans onto the stage who had recently lost their jobs for dancing to Playboi Carti’s hit track, Toxic. These two individuals, who Skepta affectionately called his security guard brothers, were brought out to share the moment with the audience.
This impromptu appearance turned into a spotlight moment, turning a moment of shared experience into a humorous nod to the music industry’s sometimes chaotic relationship with viral hits. It was a reminder that the energy of the performance often extends beyond the stage, involving the very people who fuel the culture.
