Some experiences are simply too good to leave behind, and the legend of Junkyard is certainly one of them. It stands as a beacon for late-night connection, artistic expression, and dance floor magic. This Saturday, July 11th, that spirit is roaring back to life as The Junkyard Revival takes over a secret location in San Diego for a single night, delivering the full energy, art, and immersive sound that made it an unforgettable event.
This spectacular revival is a powerful collaboration between three of San Diego’s most influential electronic music collectives: AMA Sounds, BODEGA, and The Usual Suspects. Each group has contributed uniquely to shaping the city’s electronic music scene, fostering connections and curating experiences that prioritize a journey over a simple party. By uniting their creative forces, they are recreating the immersive world of Junkyard, bringing art, community, music, and sound into one singular, unforgettable night.
The event is anchored by a stellar lineup of artists who helped define the original Junkyard experience. Returning to deliver standout sets are GiZ, Nico Moon, and the legendary Patricio.
GiZ brings a dark, bass-driven sound packed with surprises that keep the energy relentlessly moving. Her global influences create a style that effortlessly transitions between genres, building anticipation before turning up the volume to maximum. With stage presence honed in world-class environments like House of Yes, her energy perfectly mirrors the ethos of Junkyard.
Nico Moon navigates the landscape with a sound that travels from Buenos Aires to Miami, seamlessly moving between indie dance and house with fluid motion. His approach is rooted in connecting local talent with the wider global dance community.
The architect behind the signature Junkyard sound is Patricio. Emerging from Buenos Aires, he has been spinning since 1992, cultivating a style built on deep experience that pulls the audience onto the floor and keeps them there for hours. As the founder of The Junkyard, he knows exactly how to command the stage.
Rounding out this exceptional night is the extended Junkyard family, bringing together diverse local roots and international influences. Artists like Tyler Chase, founder of BODEGA, pushes indie dance into techno; Zohar guides audiences on a sonic journey with percussive, low-end energy; Mario Lui weaves Latin and Caribbean rhythms through progressive house; Pepofit delivers raw Afro-house intensity; and Polk moves effortlessly across house, nu-disco, and melodic techno with deep bass and intricate rhythms.
At the core of this revival is an uncompromising focus on sound quality. For over fifty years, Turbosound has been at the forefront of professional audio, helping reshape global music experiences. Saturday will feature a powerful sound system that carries this legacy. Monoloco of The Usual Suspects has spent time meticulously refurbishing this historic system, restoring its components to bring back the crystal-clear detail and immersive sound for which Turbosound is renowned. Every kick, every bassline, and every subtle texture will be felt as intended, making the sound system an essential element of the experience.
More than just a concert, The Junkyard Revival is about the people. It fosters an atmosphere where art, community, and music converge, allowing strangers to connect and become friends by sunrise. If you missed the magic this year, this is your chance to witness what everyone has been talking about.
The event runs on Saturday, July 11th, from 9:30 pm until late at a secret San Diego location revealed to ticket holders.
