Rolling Stones surprise single drop Who You Callin Crazy

The Rolling Stones Surprise: A Feel-Good Blast from the Past

The legendary Rolling Stones have once again delighted fans with a fresh dose of creative energy, surprising the music world with the release of the new single, Who You Callin’ Crazy. This vibrant new track serves as the latest teaser from the deluxe edition of their album Foreign Tongues, injecting a decidedly uplifting and feel-good sound into the classic sound.

The excitement stems from the band’s commitment to ongoing creativity. Last week, the group announced an extended Loose Lips version of their latest album, which features five previously unreleased songs. These new tracks were all written and recorded around the same time as the original material, showcasing a deep well of musical inspiration.

At the heart of the surprise is the infectious energy of ‘Who You Callin’ Crazy’. Mick Jagger delivers a playful, confessional verse that sets an instantly engaging mood. He sings about the internal tension: “If I look nervous, about to collapse/ if I’m squirming like a rat in a trap/ I keep blinking, my nose starts to twitch/ I keep scratching, don’t know where to itch,” building towards the upbeat, confrontational chorus: “I wanna know who, who you calling crazy”.

Adding to the track’s dynamic is a compelling musical partnership, as the song features a collaboration with jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine, blending the band’s rock pedigree with sophisticated jazz sensibilities.

Beyond the lead single, the deluxe edition is packed with other gems. Among the newly added tracks is ‘Bad Luck Hideaway’, a duet featuring Jagger and Keith Richards, with drums handled by the late Charlie Watts. This track, previously appearing as a bonus on the iTunes exclusive edition of Foreign Tongues, is now available alongside the B-side to ‘Mr Charm’ on various online platforms.

Other intriguing new songs on the expanded release include ‘Where There’s A Will’, which features Steve Winwood on organ, ‘Human Tide’, and ‘She Still Comes Around’. Fans can look forward to the full expanded edition of Foreign Tongues, which will be available on November 27 via Polydor/Universal Music.

This wave of new material reflects the band’s persistent creative drive. Mick Jagger himself has indicated that he is already actively writing for the next album, noting that while he sometimes explores ideas outside of the Stones’ established sound, the inspiration remains boundless.

While there are currently no live shows planned, the band remains ambitious about their future. Jagger has expressed hope that they will secure live dates for 2027, and the desire for a major tour continues to simmer, with members eagerly waiting for the perfect moment when everyone’s enthusiasm aligns.
