Rawayana throws Venezuelan Halloween party in NYC with guests Cheo Pardo & Yorghaki
The city of New York got a vibrant dose of Venezuelan energy on Saturday night when the trippy-pop band Rawayana brought a spectacular, Venezuelan-style Halloween party to the Barclays Center. The event was a sold-out success, transforming the arena into a kaleidoscope of color, music, and costume as the band entertained a massive crowd.
The celebration was filled with infectious rhythms, featuring hits like “Uber,” “Feriado,” and “Hora Loca” that swept the audience into a fever pitch. Adding to the festive atmosphere, the band members joined in the fun by dressing up, with Beto sporting dreadlocks, Fofo wearing a sleek bob wig, Abeja rocking an ’80s-style hair-metal wig, and Tony embracing a feminine look.
Beyond the party atmosphere, the show showcased the band’s diverse musical range. The performance began with a dynamic backdrop screen alternating tropical visuals and song-inspired imagery, accompanied by smoke columns and confetti. They later moved to a second stage, igniting the energy with deeply moving tracks like “Si Te Pica Es Porque Eres Tú,” “Que Rico PR,” and “Veneka.”
A particularly emotional moment highlighted the band’s commitment to their community. During the set, Beto took center stage with his guitar to perform “Tonada Por Ella,” dedicating the performance to those affected by the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela last June. He used the platform to encourage attendees to support Fundación El After, a nonprofit organization Rawayana established to aid long-term recovery efforts in their homeland. QR codes appeared on the screens, inviting fans to donate to the foundation, with the message: “Donate with El After. Your donation will help bring kids back to school.”
The night was also marked by stellar guest appearances that further amplified the excitement. Cheo Pardo, a former member of Los Amigos Invisibles, delivered a masterful DJ set dressed as a priest, keeping the energy soaring with classics such as “Qué Es Lo Que Tiene Esa Nena” by El General and “El Tiburón” by Proyecto Uno. Yorghaki also made an appearance, initially hiding his identity in a Spider-Man costume before revealing himself to perform his collaboration with Beéle, “abusadOra.”
This sold-out New York performance was a highlight of Rawayana’s ¿Dónde Es El After? World Tour, which is currently supporting their album of the same name released on January 1st. The tour is a testament to the band’s journey, moving from a local act to a universal party band, inspired by the themes of “Failure” and “Chaos.”
Rawayana has continued to gain recognition on the global stage, recently featuring on the cover of Billboard Español and participating in a panel during the Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami Beach alongside Hans Schafer of Live Nation, who was recognized as Billboard’s Latin Power Players Executive of the Year.
The global tour continues, with the U.S. leg wrapping up in Miami on December 6th, following stops in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Los Angeles, with plans for further dates in Miami.
