Radiohead brings 16 arena shows to Australia

After a significant hiatus, the legendary rock outfit Radiohead is making a triumphant return to Australia, embarking on a massive 16-show arena tour set for 2027. This run is poised to be the band’s only global concert event next year, signaling a powerful moment for the music world.

The itinerary is designed to deliver an unforgettable experience, starting with a four-night stand at Perth’s RAC Arena on May 3. The band will then transition seamlessly across the continent, delivering six-show residencies at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Sydney’s Afterpay Arena, culminating on June 1. This is not a traditional national run; instead, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Philip Selway, and Ed O’Brien will settle into each city, allowing for extended, immersive performances.

The Australian leg of the tour is being presented by Frontier Touring, and the anticipation for the dates is palpable. This journey follows a series of European residency shows in late 2025, a period during which the members pursued various solo and side projects, adding a layer of personal depth to this highly anticipated return.

The demand for tickets is expected to be enormous, prompting organizers to implement a registration system to ensure fairness for all fans. Registration for both general and accessible tickets is currently open and will close at 5 p.m. AEST on Thursday, September 10th. Frontier Touring has assured fans that every entry submitted during this window will be treated equally.

In a gesture reflecting the band’s commitment to environmental causes, every ticket purchased will include a $2 donation directed towards Greenpeace Australia Pacific and the Australian Marine Conservation Society, tying the spectacle directly to important conservation efforts.

Radiohead’s legacy is monumental. Since breaking through in 1993 with “Creep,” the group has been a dominant force, achieving multiple No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, including landmark works like OK Computer and Kid A. Their body of work, which includes platinum certifications and multiple Grammy awards, solidifies their status as one of the most influential rock bands of the last three decades.

The sheer scale of their career—marked by hits like In Rainbows and A Moon Shaped Pool, alongside iconic records like Hail to the Thief—underscores why this return is such a major cultural event. It promises to be more than just a concert; it is a celebration of an enduring musical force.

The tour schedule is set: the journey will span iconic venues, delivering a spectacular, rare event for Australian audiences, and further cementing Radiohead’s place in music history.
