A Cosmic Collision: Queens of the Stone Age and Pixies Announce Epic 2027 Tour
Get ready to tune up your calendars, because the world of alternative rock is gearing up for a major event. Queens of the Stone Age have announced a sprawling 2027 US tour, and they aren’t doing it alone—the iconic Pixies are joining them as special guests, promising an unforgettable musical collision.
This massive undertaking supports the band’s forthcoming ninth studio album, ‘Perfecth’, which is set to arrive on October 30. The tour kicks off next May, featuring sixteen dates across the country, beginning in San Diego and winding down in Boston.
The itinerary is packed, featuring stops from Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, Portland, Detroit, and more, culminating at the TD Garden in Boston on May 24. Adding to the spectacle, the band will be supported by the alternative hip-hop group Wheelchair Sports Camp throughout the run.
The excitement surrounding the tour is already building, with ticket sales going on general sale soon. Fans will need to be ready for the action, with pre-sales and general access opening shortly after the announcement.
Beyond the tour dates, the music itself is steeped in deep emotion. Josh Homme, the frontman of Queens of the Stone Age, shared insights into the new record, explaining that the songs are intentionally crafted to weave together complex feelings, revolving around love, lust, foolishness, and the wisdom gained from life’s experiences.
The band has already released compelling singles from ‘Where The Goth Girls At?’, alongside tracks like ‘Easy Street’ and ‘Insignificant Other’. The band even gave a live debut to the latter single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, setting a high bar for their ongoing creative output.
Meanwhile, the Pixies are also celebrating a milestone, marking their 40th anniversary in 2026 with various activities, including a UK and European tour and exciting reissues of classics like ‘Bossanova’ and ‘Trompe Le Monde’. Their most recent studio effort was ‘The Night The Zombies Came’, showcasing their continued willingness to evolve their sound.
The collaboration between the two powerhouse acts promises a truly unique experience, blending the raw energy of QOTSA with the timeless, visceral sound of the Pixies. As the groundwork is laid for this incredible tour, both bands remain focused on their craft, continuously working on new music and preparing for the monumental journey ahead.
