Peaches’ darker rework for Hellraiser Revival

When Provocative meets Pain, the result is often pure, unadulterated art. Peaches, the electroclash icon, has just delivered a seriously twisted reinterpretation of her signature track, Fuck The Pain Away, setting the stage for the upcoming video game Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival.

This isn’t just a simple remix; it’s a deep dive into the world of Cenobites, sadism, and sublime pleasure, perfectly aligning with the ominous atmosphere of the horror game. The new version has been crafted in collaboration with music director Steve Molitz, who brought the sonic darkness to life, and features a spoken-word contribution from Doug Bradley, who steps back into his iconic role as the embodiment of Pinhead.

Peaches herself embraced the transformation, stating that the rework frames her song in a darker, more twisted universe. “Fuck The Pain Away” is ever-expanding and now has new meaning in the Hellraiser universe. I’m in!

Molitz echoed this sentiment, noting his admiration for Peaches’ fiercely unapologetic and provocative approach to personal expression. The duo was thrilled to unleash what they described as a beast on the world.

The accompanying material further immerses fans in the theme. An accompanying, NSFW music video has also been released, combining Peaches’ energy with imagery inspired by the violent and sexually charged Hellraiser universe.

The original track, which became one of Peaches’ most recognizable pieces following her breakthrough 2000 album The Teaches Of Peaches, has remained a beloved staple throughout her career. Despite performing it for over twenty-five years, Peaches still cherishes the song, recognizing its enduring power.

Peaches has a history of challenging boundaries, a spirit clearly reflected in her music. She previously joined Garbage in Berlin in 2024 for a mash-up of tracks like Fuck The Pain Away and Push It, with Shirley Manson noting that Peaches spent her career ripping up all the rules.

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival is a new first-person survival horror game developed by Saber Interactive in partnership with creator Clive Barker. It is set to release on October 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
