Pauli unveils new single and teases 2027 album
Pauli The PSM is stepping into a new phase, kicking off his solo journey with a compelling new single and video. The multi-talented artist, who commands roles as a drummer, composer, producer, and musical director, has signed with Easy Does It Records, signaling an exciting expansion of his creative universe.
Pauli has long been celebrated for his ability to construct expansive musical worlds alongside some of the industry’s biggest names, including Harry Styles, Florence & the Machine, Jamie xx, and fka twigs. Now, he is channeling that same instinct toward his own narrative, exploring new territory with his solo output.
His previous solo releases, such as “Milkyway” and “Saucy” from 2023, allowed him to explore different facets of his musical personality. This approach is rooted in a deeper philosophy: building worlds not just through sound, but through sensory experience.
Pauli believes that true world-building extends far beyond the music itself. He is focused on creating experiences where listeners can not only hear the sound but also envision the aesthetic—thinking about fashion, photography, objects, and performance. He wants every song to feel tangible, as if you could dress as it, photograph it, or even smell it.
This immersive approach is perfectly captured in his latest offering, “girl with the nose ring.” Produced and written by Kyle Berzle, the track delivers a playful collision of bravado and vulnerability. The lyrics navigate themes of letting go of being cool enough to feel something, weaving through imagery of Soho House showers, first date mushrooms, rooftop adventures, and bad tattoos.
The project serves as an extension of Pauli’s established artistic vision, diving deeper into the spaces and characters he constructs. He is seeking to explore the boundaries of emotion and experience, leading up to an upcoming full-length album slated for early 2027.
This forthcoming work promises an exploration of “love from every possible angle,” tackling themes ranging from romantic love and lust to ego, friendship, self-love, and the often-messy reality of “bad decisions disguised as love.”
Pauli is eager to turn that creative lens back on himself, asking what his own universe sounds and looks like when unbound by traditional rules. He is particularly excited about the live potential of the new material. He envisions “girl with the nose ring” as a full-band experience—a volume-up-and-sweat-it-out moment where the audience can truly rock out and sweat out their edges.
Pauli’s solo career is built on a remarkable résumé, featuring collaborative credits with major figures like Idris Elba, Maggie Rogers, Charlie Puth, and Lizzo, alongside work with Damon Albarn, Robyn, and Sampha. His experience, including serving as U2’s MC/DJ during the band’s Las Vegas Sphere residency, provides a rich foundation for the boundless possibilities he is now exploring.
