Overpass and Nieve Ella rethink Fall In Love
Music lovers, prepare to fall in love all over again. Indie powerhouse Overpass has joined forces with the captivating vocalist Nieve Ella to give a fresh, much-needed spin on the beloved track, ‘Fall In Love’.
The collaboration is more than just a musical tweak; it’s a journey of shared perspective. The original version of the song was featured on the Birmingham indie band’s debut album ‘Elsewhere, Always’, but Nieve Ella has stepped in to rewrite the second verse, transforming the narrative from a singer’s singular account into a dynamic conversation between two distinct viewpoints.
This creative move brings a new dimension to the song, adding layers of depth and emotional resonance that fans are already buzzing about. Overpass frontman Max Newbold praised the decision, noting that Nieve was their immediate first choice for the feature, keen to inject a fresh meaning into the lyrics.
“Nieve’s input added this extra dimension to the song, and we’re so excited for people to hear it,” Newbold shared. “We’ve grown alongside each other and hit similar milestones, and it felt natural to combine our worlds.”
Ella echoed this sentiment, highlighting the deeply personal connection she felt to the material. She explained that being part of the song felt particularly special because she resonates so strongly with its themes, especially the complexities of young love while navigating a fast-paced life.
“Having my part on ‘Fall In Love’ is super special for me as I resonate with the meaning of the song a lot,” she noted. “Being young and in love is sometimes complicated when you are living a life on the go all the time.”
The synergy between the two artists was already visible, as they previewed their version together when Ella joined Overpass on stage at the Reading Festival last month.
Beyond this exciting collaboration, both artists are currently charting an exciting creative course. Overpass has been busy exploring new sounds, having already started writing new material inspired by tracks like Harry Styles’ ‘American Girls’. The band is gearing up for a sold-out autumn UK and Ireland headline tour, kicking off in Belfast on October 23, and they have announced a massive headline run for April 2027.
Meanwhile, Nieve Ella is preparing for her own artistic debut, set to release her album ‘How Long Will It Take?’ on October 16. She described the recording process as a therapeutic experience, describing the album as a journey about “growing and learning that nothing is really linear.”
