The chill of winter in Northern Portugal is about to be warmed by rhythm and global sound. SQUARE Festival is making its triumphant return for its second edition this winter, set to illuminate the historic cities of Braga, Famalicão, Guimarães, and Viana do Castelo.

Running from January 27th to 30th, this is more than just a music event; it is a vibrant convergence point designed to bridge the vast expanse of the Atlantic. Much like its celebrated sibling, São Miguel’s Tremor, SQUARE Festival champions a unique mission: connecting artistic communities nestled along the Atlantic coastlines—linking Europe, Africa, and the Americas in a truly international celebration of sound.

The festival promises an immersive experience, pulling together a diverse roster of talent. While the full lineup is still being finalized, early glimpses into the 2027 offerings reveal a potent mix of established and emerging international acts. The initial wave includes celebrated names such as Anna Vis, Carme López, CHISARA, Gisela Mabel, Helviofox, I’A’V, IBSXJAUR, Miguel Pedro, Serge Fritz, TRAVO, LETUS, Land Whales, iD-sus, Nico Espinoza, SGO, and Crizin Da Z.O., promising a soundtrack rich with global influences.

This collaboration is further amplified by a stack of international partners, including influential entities like Iceland Airwaves, New Colossus, Ment, and Rewire, ensuring that the festival remains a nexus for global musical and cultural exchange.

For those looking to secure their place at this dynamic event, early-bird passes are currently available. General admission starts at a very accessible €35, with Pro Passes offered at €50. These rates are designed to encourage participation, though prices will increase once 50 tickets have been sold.
