Nicki Minaj’s ‘I Just Love Him’ response to Trump criticism
When a global superstar steps into the arena of politics and business, the resulting conversation often moves far beyond the headlines. Rapper Nicki Minaj recently found herself at the intersection of celebrity culture and the Trump administration, engaging in a high-profile business competition and sharing her perspective on her relationship with the President.
On Friday, she appeared on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle to discuss the administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition designed to support small businesses.
Minaj was brought in to lend her perspective as a judge for the competition, which featured five small-business finalists vying for a total of $1 million in growth capital. She joined fellow judges Grant Cardone and Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia for the event, which culminated in a live finale in Washington, D.C.
The conversation naturally turned to her connection with President Trump. When asked about her experience working with the administration, Minaj expressed genuine enthusiasm, stating she felt honored to collaborate with the team. She described the experience simply as fun, noting that the President had inspired many people, including herself.
Minaj elaborated on her personal rapport with the President, suggesting a deep level of ease and understanding. She remarked that Trump is not just a political figure, but someone she can relate to, someone who is genuinely grounded. “It’s easy to connect with him. It’s easy to feel like he heard you, he understands you. I just love him. I’m not going to ever make excuses for that.”
This candid reflection contrasted with public speculation about her relationship with the administration. When confronted about critics, Minaj offered a firm dismissal, simply stating, “Absolutely nothing,” adding, “I don’t know why I should.”
The connection between Minaj and the President is not new. Earlier in the year, Minaj had made her public admiration clear, calling herself the President’s “No. 1 fan” at a summit. The President himself returned the sentiment during a presidential luncheon, praising her talent and respect among others.
