MUNA’s Bus Catches Fire Tour
Even the most anticipated musical journeys can take an unexpected turn, but for the queer pop trio MUNA, a recent detour has brought a dose of unexpected drama. Their Gets So Hot Tour bus recently experienced a serious incident, catching fire in Burbank, California.
Despite the alarming nature of the event, the band managed to share an update that focused more on survival than disaster. They released a photo showing the group and their crew alongside a KTLA News helicopter shot amid the scene on the freeway, emphasizing that while many personal items were lost, everyone was safe. The message was clear: they are all safe, thank goodness.
Beyond the immediate physical danger, the aftermath brought out deeply personal stories from the members. Guitarist Naomi McPherson spoke openly about the emotional toll, sharing a poignant request for help regarding a personal struggle, asking for assistance in fulfilling a prophecy and undoing a curse that has been wreaking havoc on her life. She also noted that she had taken time off the road recently to be with her terminally ill mother during her final days.
Fellow guitarist Josette Maskin took a moment to extend her gratitude, praising the Burbank Fire Department for their swift and effective action in saving the group.
This incident serves as a powerful reminder that even when the spotlight is intensely bright, life throws curveballs. For MUNA, navigating the complexities of fame, artistry, and personal hardship has brought them a unique set of experiences, proving that even during a crisis, community and resilience shine through.
