Metallica Sphere: Full Setlist from Life Burns Faster
Metallica Ignites the Sphere: A New Era of Live Rock
The pinnacle of hard rock has arrived in Las Vegas. Metallica officially kicked off their Life Burns Faster residency at the state-of-the-art Sphere, marking a monumental moment for live music spectacle.
The decision to bring the legendary band to this futuristic venue was driven by ambition and a desire to push boundaries. Lars Ulrich, the band’s co-founder and drummer, cited seeing other artists, like U2, command the Sphere earlier in the year as the catalyst for this pursuit. He felt that if other artists could achieve this level of innovation in the venue, it was time for Metallica to do the same.
“When I saw U2 open the Sphere in September 2023, I realized that we had to do this; it was completely uncharted territory,” Ulrich shared. He expressed immense excitement about the opportunity to reinvent how they interact with their fans on stage, looking forward to taking their live performance to the next level.
This residency is not just a concert; it’s an evolution. Metallica is committed to keeping the experience fresh, following their long-standing tradition of the No Repeat Weekend. Fans looking to maximize their experience have the option to purchase tickets for two consecutive nights, guaranteeing them two completely unique performances.
Beyond the initial residency, the band is continuing their ascent into the Sphere spotlight. They have announced an expanded schedule, including new dates in 2027 and twelve additional dates for their M72 World Tour, extending their run across North America.
Metallica is setting a new benchmark for arena headliners, following other major acts like the Eagles, Backstreet Boys, and even solo artist John Mayer, who is also set to feature a solo residency at the venue in the future. This influx of legacy acts and new stars confirms the Sphere as the ultimate stage for music history and future innovation.
