The high-stakes legal battle between rapper Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation is heading toward a jury trial, as a federal judge has refused to dismiss several serious accusations brought forward by a former cameraman.

This landmark decision, handed down on Friday, August 7, allows the case to proceed over claims made in a lawsuit filed in 2024 that accuses the music star and her agency of workplace misconduct during a European tour.

The core of the allegations rests on claims that the cameraman, Emilio Garcia, was subjected to a highly inappropriate incident, which he alleges occurred while on tour in Spain in 2022. Garcia further claimed this event led to retaliation by Megan and Roc Nation, including reduced work and eventual termination after he complained about his pay.

The allegations were not limited to the alleged incident; Garcia also accused the parties of failing to pay proper wages, discriminating against him under New York law, and retaliating him for raising concerns about compensation.

Despite these serious claims, Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team has firmly denied any wrongdoing. They have dismissed the accusations as false and fabricated, suggesting that Garcia manufactured sensationalist allegations for the sole purpose of creating a media firestorm.

The star’s attorney, Alex Spiro, painted a stark picture of the claims, writing that the plaintiff was attempting to manipulate the judicial system to serve as a publicist while trying to undermine Megan Thee Stallion‘s successful career.

However, the judge made a pivotal ruling by dismissing certain claims, specifically those related to retaliation. Nonetheless, the court determined there was sufficient basis for a jury to consider Garcia’s claims regarding discrimination and wage disputes.
