The program is designed to be high-impact, efficiently packing incredible performances and presentations into a limited runtime. This year’s event is already drawing attention for its focus on honoring history while embracing the future of music.

A special focus will be placed on tribute performances, honoring artists who have left an indelible mark on the industry. Meanwhile, Shaboozey and Gunna will bring a duo performance, pairing Shaboozey’s hits “Cowgirl” and “High Noon” with Gunna.

The energy will peak with collaborations between the next generation of pop stars. GENER8ION and Yung Lean are teaming up to perform the second half of their surprise nominee for Video of the Year, “Storm,” while LISA from BLACKPINK is set to share her powerful performance of “SaWaDiKa.”

The nominees themselves reflect the diverse landscape of modern music. Madonna leads with thirteen nominations, while Taylor Swift commands eleven. The presentation will also feature a stellar group of presenters, including Alex Warren, Charli xcx, Teyana Taylor, Tyla, and Troye Sivan, alongside established figures like Chuck D, Emma Bunton, Orville Peck, and Paris Hilton. It’s clear that the 2026 VMAs will deliver a vibrant and unforgettable night, showcasing the depth and breadth of contemporary music.
