Madness Relive Their Musical History with Limited Edition Vinyl Reissues

Get ready to dust off your record collections, because the iconic North London group Madness is bringing their musical history to a new generation with a highly anticipated reissue of their first five studio albums. This isn’t just a reissue; it’s a full-blown retrospective celebrating the mischievous spirit and enduring charm of the ‘Nutty Boys’.

The set includes the classic albums One Step Beyond… (1979), Absolutely (1980), 7 (1981), The Rise & Fall (1982), and Keep Moving (1984).

For those who cherish the era, these records chronicle the band’s ascent, featuring hits like The Prince, My Girl, and Night Boat To Cairo. The singles released between 1980 and 1986 spent an impressive 214 weeks on the UK singles chart, cementing their place as a decade-defining force.

Madness is treating fans to premium formats, with the new editions hitting shelves on January 29th. These releases will be available on 180g black vinyl, alongside strictly limited edition 180g colored vinyl and CDs, offering a rich sensory experience for every collector.

The vinyl editions feature a brand new 2026 remaster, meticulously cut from the original quarter-inch master tapes used in previous reissues. This ensures that the sound quality is pristine, offering a fresh perspective on these beloved classics.

Further enhancing the collector appeal, each CD includes the previous remasters presented in special mini-LP replica sleeves. And for the first time ever, fans will find the complete lyrics to all the Madness-composed songs included on every reissue, alongside the recreation of the original album artwork.

The real showstopper lies in the limited colored vinyl collection. Five unique, one-time pressing colors—violet for One Step Beyond… , blue for Absolutely, silver for 7, red for The Rise & Fall, and white for Keep Moving—will form a highly sought-after set. These vibrant editions are strictly limited and will never be repressed, making them essential items for any serious collector.

“Five albums, a fair few dodgy haircuts and more than a couple of tunes that have stood the test of time! It’s quite something to look back at those early records and realise how much mischief we managed to get up to,” the band shared. “We’re chuffed to be giving them a new lease of life and hope they bring back a few memories for those who were there the first time around, as well as hopefully finding their way into the collections of a new generation of Nutty Boys and Girls.”
