This special release marks a significant milestone: the first anniversary of her debut album, Vicious Delicious. Luvcat is commemorating this moment by offering fans an exclusive look at a recent, high-energy performance, packaged in a darkly enchanting film.
The concert film captures an unforgettable night at the infamous London venue, The Box Soho. The performance was so electrifying that the venue sold out in just five minutes, proving the demand for Luvcat’s unique sound.
The setlist for the performance was a thrilling mix of the celebrated tracks from Vicious Delicious and her EP Lovebites, punctuated by previews of unreleased material and a haunting reworking of the Twin Peaks Theme, setting the stage perfectly for a spooky celebration.
Reflecting on the mythical atmosphere of the night, Luvcat shared her experience, describing the event as a “fever dream. Delightful and disturbing,” noting how the experience blurred the lines between reality and fantasy.
Luvcat’s journey to stardom is anything but quiet. In the past year alone, she has taken her music across borders, performing over 100 shows in 25 countries, including major festival appearances at Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds, and Rock en Seine, where she opened the main stage for Chappell Roan.
Her recent work, including the follow-up album Lovebites, has been critically acclaimed. The album featured a notable collaboration with John Cooper Clarke, further showcasing the depth and versatility of her artistry.
Critics have lauded Luvcat’s sound, praising how she manages to balance poignancy and fun while delivering instrumentally vast tracks that range from the moodiness of The Cure to pure movie montage pop. Reviewers emphasize that her work is a testament to authenticity, backed by powerful lyrical delivery.
The roots of Luvcat’s unique voice are deeply layered, drawing inspiration from figures like Lewis Carroll, Spike Milligan, and Doctor Seuss, alongside musical titans such as Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Joni Mitchell. This rich tapestry of influences fuels the emotionally complex and compelling music she creates.
Fans will have a limited window to enjoy this spooky affair, as the concert film will be uploaded to YouTube for 48 hours, starting at 6pm GMT on Halloween, October 31st. Prepare for a cinematic journey that is as deliciously wicked as it is mesmerizing.
