Linda Perhacs found safe after being missing

The search for cult folk legend Linda Perhacs has finally reached an end, with reports confirming that she has been located and is safe.

This much-awaited update comes after a period of concern involving friends, collaborators, and members of the music community who were unable to establish contact with Perhacs. Following these difficulties, police reports had been filed as friends sought to ensure her well-being.

Former manager Laurel Stearns confirmed the positive outcome, emphasizing the collective effort that led to this resolution. Stearns expressed sincere gratitude for the overwhelming response—the sharing of information, outreach for support, and the genuine care shown by fans, fellow musicians, journalists, and the broader creative community.

“The response from everyone who cared about Linda’s well-being was a powerful reminder of the profound impact her music has had,” Stearns noted. She also extended thanks to the authorities and all those who worked behind the scenes to bring clarity to the situation.

In reflecting on the events, Stearns stressed the importance of compassion: “At this time, we ask that Linda’s privacy be respected as those close to her determine the best path forward. We hope this moment allows for healing and continued support for an artist whose work has touched so many lives.”

Linda Perhacs’ legacy is firmly rooted in the folk tradition. In 1970, she released her debut album Parallelograms, which is considered one of the essential, trailblazing folk albums by women from the 1960s and 70s.

Though she retired from music at that time due to the album’s lack of immediate commercial success, Perhacs continued to create. She later released two more acclaimed works: The Soul of All Natural Things in 2014 and I’m A Harmony in 2017.
